Responsibilities
- Set and communicate clear team goals and KPIs; ensure efficient and economical performance in accordance with operating budgets, year-end goals, and objectives.
- Review analysis of performance including financial and productivity data and adjust strategies, goals, and objectives as needed.
- Monitor daily performance of all personal trainers and the team’s achievement relative to monthly targets.
- Practice cost containment strategies to maintain profitability and growth of the area.
- Assist team members with operational issues and provide motivation and support.
- Conduct 1-1 meetings with team members to identify needs for improvement and provide resources for development.
- Ensure all employees receive appropriate training and ongoing compliance training.
- Implement business initiatives, including prompt corrective action plans for underperforming team members.
- Listen to team feedback and resolve issues or conflicts.
- Conduct quarterly evaluations of team members; promote continuous education and development.
- Foster a healthy, motivating work environment; organize team-building sessions as required.
- Provide timely answers to questions and requests from team members and stakeholders; organize and update trainer files.
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed; maintain excellent customer service and relationships with team members, clients, and partners.
- Prepare and file forms and other documents requested by the line manager; collaborate with HR on hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
- Manage uniform requests and distribution; ensure smooth distribution to trainees.
- Maintain strong communications between managers and staff within the area and across the division; lead communications sessions and ensure dissemination of information to support staff.
- Analyze operations and forward improvement suggestions to the line manager; ensure safety regulations are followed at all times.
Requirements
Education & Certification
- School diploma required.
- REPs Level 3 (or equivalent) PT certification.
- Valid First Aid & CPR; fitness or business degree is preferred.
Experience
- 2+ years of active PT experience in a commercial gym.
- Proven sales, retention results; experience mentoring or supporting other trainers is preferred.
Leadership Skills
- Able to motivate, guide, and support a team; strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Shows responsibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Sales & Business Skills
- Strong understanding of PT sales and client journey; able to train trainers on sales and service.
- Comfortable tracking KPIs and building action plans.
Operations
- Basic admin and reporting skills; understands company policies and package rules.
- Experience with CRM or scheduling tools is a plus.
