Overview
Reporting to the Service Line Manager/ Nurse Manager, the Senior Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care provided to patients and their family members according to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgement within their designated clinical area at all times in alignment with DOH/DHA and the organization's policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. The Senior Registered Nurse must also deliver direct patient care whilst coordinating and overseeing nursing practice, with the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. The Senior Registered Nurse is responsible for deputizing for the Line Manager in their absence, driving forward evidence-based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Provides personalized nursing care by assessing patients' conditions, considering socioeconomic and cultural factors for a positive patient experience.
• Completes nursing documentation accurately and performs visual acuity assessments according to set guidelines.
• Draws blood safely, handles and labels specimens correctly, and ensures timely follow-up on test results.
• Conducts glucometer and ECG/EKG tests effectively, briefs patients beforehand, and administers eye drops following medical protocols.
• Calculates and administers drug doses accurately based on individual prescriptions.
• Assists in emergency patient revivals, reports significant abnormalities to relevant staff, and follows policies for urgent interventions.
• Delivers health education, maintains a clean and safe environment, and prioritizes cases based on available resources.
• Supports high-quality, evidence-based care, reviews clinical standards, and advises on best practices to improve departmental performance.

Qualifications

• DOH / DHA License
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• 7 years of experience post-qualification
