Job Description

1. Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings such as equipment layout, cable tray/ladders layout, cable schedule, cable routing, block diagrams, single line drawing, and termination.
2. Understand the principles of basic electricity and basic electrical code requirements.
3. Ability to identify, select, and safely operate all electrical tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, crimping tools, knives, benders, and electrical meters.
4. Install and repair wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard ships, in marine facilities, and offshore and onshore structures following blueprints and wiring diagrams.
5. Install conduits, multi-cable transits, electrical cable trays & ladders, junction boxes, circuit breakers, and switchboard panels as per electrical drawings.
6. Pull and install power, control, and instrument cables through cable penetrations, conduits, cable trays/ladders, and trenches. Dress & band, gland, and terminate the cables with proper industry techniques.
7. Test electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance, and phase angle, in circuits using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and phase rotation indicators.
8. Knowledge of specifications and standards of the oil and gas industry, especially explosion-proof equipment installation in hazardous areas.
9. Ability to communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
10. Ensure compliance with HSES policies and procedures as applicable.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. ITI / ITC in electrical with 5 years’ experience in construction as an electrician for offshore jobs.
2. Good communication skills.
