The Department of Marine Biology, College of Marine Sciences and Aquatic Biology at the University of Khorfakkan, invites applicants for full-time permanent faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor ranks, starting Spring 2024.
Outstanding candidates from all research areas of Marine Biology will be considered with preference to be given to candidates with a PhD in Marine Biology from Universities recognized/accredited by the UAE (United Arab Emirates) Ministry of Education, and those with high research profiles as evidenced by Scopus indexed research. Also, significant undergraduate- and graduate teaching- and supervision experience is an advantage.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach effectively in all areas of marine biology, and they should also be willing to contribute to teaching basic biology courses. They will be expected to supervise undergraduate student research projects and help develop postgraduate programs in the college. The successful candidate is expected to engage in other educational, scholarly, and professional activities, liaise with industry where appropriate, and undertake research in their areas of interest.
Teach courses in all areas of Marine Biology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Lead active research projects in their field of specialization and supervise undergraduate student research projects/theses. Contribute to curricular development and accreditation exercises in the College. Engage in community service, service to the university as well as to the profession.
Minimum qualification includes a Ph.D. in Marine Biology or Marine Science, with graduate education record combining course work and research from a reputable and accredited institution of higher education.
