NAS Dubai is a purpose built ‘flagship school’ generously resourced with a whole school enrolment of over 3040. This equates to 1690 in the primary school and 1350 in the secondary school. Our curriculum is based upon the legacy of the English National Curriculum adapted to the local environment leading up to GCSE at KS4 and on to the IB Diploma programme and A Levels at KS5. Our GCSE results consistently significantly surpass the world average, with 41% of students achieving A**-*, 9-8 over the last three years (World Average 27.6%). About The Role
- Ensure proper accounting and financial records and systems are maintained.
- Ensure the school maintains costs within agreed budget levels.
- Proactively advise the UAE Head of Finance & Principal around budget efficiencies.
- Financial accounts are produced monthly, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and within agreed timeframes. This includes but not limited to, accruals, prepayments, ECL and FAR management.
- All statutory accounting and tax returns are produced and submitted in accordance with legislation.
- Management of IFRS 16 leases in accordance with the standard.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
- Production of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts to aid both the school and Nord Anglia Education cash management.
- Ensure proper asset management processes are in operation.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors regarding the statutory accounts and other statutory returns.
- Liaise with internal auditors ensuring internal processes are robust and act and implement on any recommendations.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the latest accounting and tax regulations within the UAE and Internationally.
About YouTo be considered for this position, you must:
- Be educated to Degree or its equivalent.
- Have 5-7 years and above experience with proven ability in an accounting role with VAT experience essential.
- Be well versed with IFRS and general accounting procedures.
- Have advanced experience in accountancy software products such as MS Navision, and MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Have the ability to work to tight deadlines, and the ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have past experience in a school environment (desirable).
- Possess excellent communication skills to negotiate with external stakeholders on commercial contracts and transactions.
- Have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with non-finance members as well as finance members of school and regional team.
- Demonstrate high levels of personal integrity.
- Exhibit excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Have the ability to work under pressure and remain calm.
- Be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Have the ability to work independently.
- Be adaptable.
