Senior Director of Communications for APJC
Fortune ranked Cisco as the world’s #1 company to work for in 2021. That accolade is a testament to our culture, our people, the work we do, and the future we’re creating. In this role, you can have a real impact in shaping what that world looks like.
What you'll do
The big picture: You’ll develop the next generation of Cisco’s public relations, social media, executive, and employee communications professionals across APJC. You’ll shape the region’s internal and external messaging and communications campaigns that will position Cisco as the leader in technology and shaping the digital world.
You’ll translate Cisco’s APJC business strategy into communications with tangible, measurable outcomes. You’ll work with the region’s executive leadership and be a strategic advisor to the business. You’ll provide the link between all communications across the entire APJC region.
The day-to-day: You’ll lead and develop a team of communications professionals across APJC. Driving our corporate, regional, and local communications programs, you’ll plan and implement activities with the wider global communications team.
You will also work with key internal (APJC executive leadership, government affairs, analyst relations, engineering, sales, marketing, and other functions) and external partners (media and influencers).
More about who you'll work with
You’ll be part of the team responsible for advancing our reputation worldwide, with well-crafted, clear, compelling narratives that get people’s attention. Our award-winning Global Communications Team is home to Corporate and Technology PR, Analyst Relations, International Relations, CEO and Employee Communications, as well as the Communications Intelligence and Cisco’s Storytelling hub.
Who you are
Curious for stories. Hungry to find the answer to ‘so what?’ for our audiences. Keen to plan and shape internal and external perceptions, opinions, and behaviors through our communications. You’ll be all about getting the right results that support the business’s priorities and applying strategic thinking to get there.
You’ll be an excellent writer – someone who can make the complex simple – with an eye for detail. And it won’t take you long to get under the skin of our brand voice and become an advocate for it. Deadlines and tight turnarounds won’t phase you. You’re happy taking the initiative and working with minimum guidance.
When it comes to your strengths, you count leadership, strategic, results-driven among them. Working with people across multiple geographies and functions will be nothing new to you.
