Reporting to the Global Revenue Growth Management Director, the Global Head of Sales & Demand Planning will be instrumental as a strategic differentiator in support of Dyson’s growth and customer experience. This is a new role to drive unbiased demand led planning, bringing the outside in, ensuring a high quality and accuracy of the sales and demand plans, supporting the Global Revenue organization’s planning efforts.
You will be responsible for managing and optimizing the sales & demand planning processes globally, working closely with multi-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Sales & Demand Forecasting: Utilize historical data, market trends, price elasticity, and inputs from sales and marketing teams to ensure regions and markets develop accurate and timely bottom-up sales & demand forecasts for products or services across global markets. Analyze patterns and identify factors that may impact demand fluctuations. Collaborate with regional/market sales & demand planners to ensure high quality and consolidate forecasts and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the organization’s planning efforts.
- Coordinate planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the company.
- Proactively identify opportunities for sales & demand planning process improvement and lead a culture of continuous improvement in the end-to-end planning process and within the team.
- Collaborate closely with sales to ensure high quality and high reliability of the plans.
- Collaborate closely with finance so that sales & demand plans are well financialized and give the right signal to top management on where the business is heading.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain to support them in delivering perfect balance in service (avoid shortage), cash (optimal inventory level at SKU level), and cost (lower cost to deliver).
- Performance Analysis and Reporting: Monitor sales & demand forecast accuracy and measure performance against forecasted targets. Conduct root cause analysis to identify forecast errors and implement corrective actions. Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate sales & demand planning insights, KPIs, and performance trends to stakeholders and senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, methodologies, and tools. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, increase forecast accuracy, and improve collaboration across teams. Stay updated with industry best practices and incorporate them into sales & demand planning practices.
- Implement enabling technologies and/or support deployment of global solutions in the region (statistical forecast, advanced predictive models, sales planning tool, etc.).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of proven experience in sales & demand planning, supply chain management, and solid knowledge in inventory management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to present complex topics to senior leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Proficiency in sales & demand planning software.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
