The company is looking for a Business Unit (BU) IT lead that will report to Global Head of IT (direct) and BU/SU (matrix) and will be responsible for a team of IT resources.
The Business Unit (BU) IT serves as the point of contact for all assigned Business leaders on all IT related matters. This role serves as the bridge between the Global IT organization and the business leaders via the Business Functional Owner(s) (BFOs), IT Business Analysis(s) (ITBAs) and IT Manager within the assigned BU/SU or Region.
This role will partner closely with the BFOs, ITBAs and IT Manager on the determination, shaping and delivery of strategic and tactical functional capabilities roadmap to the business function(s) based in the assigned BU/SU or Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for translating the business function strategy into strategic program initiatives that deliver business capabilities through IT.
- Help to translate these IT capabilities, applying ‘Best Practices’ knowledge, into high-level project proposals and works with CIO and business project teams to develop business cases that are relevant to the business functions.
- Actively gather and identify opportunities for business performance improvements and liaise with the BFO regularly on the qualification and prioritization of the planned projects as well as the raised change requests and severity of open incidents.
- Challenge and question the business need to understand the underlying rationale and root causes behind a business issue or a strategic initiative and how it aligns to the business strategy objectives and communicates this back to the rest of the Global IT organization.
- Gather regular key updates from the business functions and keep the Global IT organization up to date on the IT programs in assigned BU/SU or Region.
- Work with the ITBPs and IT Manager to merge the functional roadmaps into a consolidation IT roadmap that aligns with the overall assigned BU/SU or Region Objectives.
- Ensure the solution for all proposed projects and changes are in line with the IT architecture and standards published by the Global IT Architecture board.
- Collaborate with the Global IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager and Global IT Application Manager on the IT resource demand vs capability planning process to ensure optimized uses of IT resources.
- Provide oversight on the projects in partnership with BFOs through the project lifecycle phases ensuring business case benefits are realized.
- Advise and coach analysis and implementation work carried out by team members in IT projects in the assigned BU/SU or Region.
In Respect Of The Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fluent English.
- 10+ years in a similar capacity with demonstrated experience to lead teams with the mandate of driving excellence to meet the business needs. Relevant corporate IT or equivalent experience, in a multicultural environment within manufacturing companies.
- Strong communicator who can utilize his/her strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact and influence stakeholders and customers.
- Broad functional knowledge of SAP and SAP license management, and integration of ERP packages into infrastructure and the technology environment.
- Structured Problem-Solving Methodology and techniques e.g., 8D, DMAIC, Pareto, Poka Yoke.
- Demonstrates strong financial stewardship.
- Demonstrated business acumen, with a wide breadth of IT and industry experience who can translate ideas into action. Understands the needs of the business and can identify and apply IT solutions to drive real business value. Has a strong results orientation with a focus on operational excellence. Track record of partnering with the business to bring solutions to the table that will meet their specific needs in supporting their area of expertise.
- Leading change: ability to bring about strategic change to meet organizational goals. Inherent ability to implement an organizational vision in a continuously changing environment.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
