For our Sales Team in Southern Europe we are looking for a Field Application Engineer (m/f/d)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the adoption of Advanced Energy power conversion solutions at our customers at all stages of the engagement process from presales activity to postproduction/installation support.
- Provide technical proposals and specification reviews for both standard and modified/custom designed products.
- Offer AE solution recommendations, system architecture guidance, schematic review, on-site customer qualification & debug support.
- Establish and maintain technical relationships with customers and distributors, striving to be considered a trusted advisor for power conversion solutions.
- Develop engineering relationships with our customers and communicate technical requirements for new applications or customer needs that aren’t served by the current portfolio to the Advanced Energy product development. FAE input is critical in defining new products and roadmap.
- As a trusted customer advocate, earn the respect of engineering leaders both internally and with the customer.
- Influence the sales strategy with a technical perspective.
- Provide technology updates and product training to customers, sales, and distribution.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
Essential:
- Technical education with 3-5 years in electronic engineering, and/or demonstrated industry experience.
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in related fields desirable.
- Relevant professional experience in related engineering fields such as AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion solutions.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, such as field applications or business development, with direct customer interaction.
- Ability to work independently in a flexible and challenging environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, across teams and with customers.
- Ability to present technical proposals, provide product trainings, and present at industry-relevant public conferences.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering and technical product issues using sound judgment.
We welcome:
- Working knowledge of high-tech industrial and medical market segments.
- Experience with IP, serial, and analog/digital based communications protocols and interfaces (e.g., PMBus, ModBus, etc.).
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English (C1).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Domestic & International travel in EMEA is required; approximately 50% should be expected at a minimum.
- A company car is provided for business travel and private use.
