Ref number: Surrey 110034The role holder must be available to work on a Monday and Tuesday to attend mandatory virtual meetings including the Referral, review and allocations meeting on a Monday afternoon and be available on a Tuesday for their own clinical supervision provided by the consultant clinical psychologist. The rest of the week the role holder is able to work flexibly to a hybrid model with an expectation to visit partners in the community on occasions.
The ability to travel is essential.

Skills & Experience:
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent qualification).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and clinical governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of public health strategies and how they relate to mental health and wellbeing, particularly in the context of multi-agency services.
- Proven experience in providing clinical supervision and reflective practice, ideally within a public health or multi-agency setting.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals and teams dealing with complex, multiple disadvantages, including mental health challenges, substance use, and social issues.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessments, formulating interventions, and working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide clear advice and guidance to senior leaders, team members, and external partners.
- Ability to use and promote psychological formulation tools, such as the “My Story, Strength and Hope” model, in collaborative settings.
What's involved with this role:
Join the Changing Futures team at the County Council as a Clinical Psychologist. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified psychologist to provide clinical oversight for the service, supporting adults facing multiple challenges.
You’ll work closely with a partnership of local organisations to enhance the lives of individuals experiencing complex issues such as housing instability, substance use, and mental health difficulties. You’ll provide leadership, championing the principles of the Changing Futures programme and collaborating with key partners, including community organisations and strategic leads.
Key duties:
- Provide group and 1:1 clinical supervision and reflective practice to staff across voluntary sector services, promoting resilience and psychological wellbeing.
- Mentor outreach workers to facilitate ‘team around me’ meetings, offering trauma-informed, multi-agency support for clients facing multiple disadvantages.
- Assist outreach workers in creating safety plans and using the ‘My Story, Strength and Hope’ psychological formulation model to request service adjustments for clients.
- Attend and contribute to the weekly Referral, Review, and Allocations meeting.
- Support the dissemination of learning and contribute to forums, driving system change to benefit individuals experiencing multiple disadvantages and the services supporting them.
