The Role - Manufacturing Engineer:
- Programme & Operate CNC machinery (Milling/Turning)
- Design and manufacture components using precision engineering tools
- Investigate manufacturing problems or failures, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Make technical decisions for manufacturing processes that are either running or scheduled to run
- Provide make technical decisions for manufacturing processes that are either running or scheduled to run
What our client is looking for in the successful Manufacturing Engineer:
- HNC qualified or equivalent in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline, preferably within manufacturing engineering
- Previous experience in a similar precision engineering based role
- Strong understanding of Fanuc control systems
- Experience using Edgecam or FeatureCAM software
- Experience using PC-DMIS measurement software
- Experience programming multi-axis turn/mill machine tools
- Excellent knowledge of ISO programming
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent understanding of CAD modelling, CAM programming and programming of CMM equipment

What our client is offering for the successful CNC Setter Operator:
- Salary: £33,930 - £35,334 per annum inclusive of shift premium (DOE)
- £29,000 - £30,200 basic salary (DOE) plus 17% shift premium
- Working hours:
- Week 1: Monday - Wednesday 05:55-17:40 (11.75 hours)
- Week 2 Thursday - Saturday 05:55-17:40 (11.75 hours)
- 15 shift holidays (equivalent to 25 days 3/5ths) plus bank holidays off.
- If you are off shift on a bank holiday, you get a day back in lieu.

The Role - CNC Setter Operator:
- Setting and operating of Fanuc controlled CNC lathes and vertical machining centres, as well as multi-axis turn/mill machining centres.
- Manufacture components using precision engineering tools
- Set up and operation of a range of multi-axis CNC machine tools
- Quality checking products
- Use of hard gauging and CMM equipment to ensure product quality with fine tolerances
- Working in stainless steels and heat resistant super alloys
- Working from engineering drawings
What our client is looking for in the successful CNC Setter/Operator:
- NVQ/City & Guilds qualified or equivalent in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline, preferably within manufacturing engineering
- Previous experience in a similar precision engineering based role - ESSENTIAL
- Good knowledge of setting and operating Fanuc controlled CNC lathes and vertical machining centre - ESSENTIAL
- Strong understanding of ISO programming
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation - ESSENTIAL
- Experience in the setup and operation of Mazak Integrex machine tools - BENEFICIAL
- Knowledge of Mazatrol Smooth Control - BENEFICIAL
- Experience of twin turret, twin spindle machining - BENEFICIAL
