It is Dr Karen Morton's vision to be the Women's Health service of choice across the United Kingdom, providing intermediate care to women and girls who can go straight to the experts when they need advice and guidance most!
Providing expert care for women
Enhancing The Primary Care Workforce
Saving NHS money
Improving productivity across the UK economy
The work involves providing consultations remotely for GP practices and Primary Care Networks who have entered into a service level agreement with Dr Morton's to provide excellent care and consultations to women. We complete all our consultations by prescribing if needed, referring on if appropriate (within agreed guidelines eg fertility is excluded) and arranging investigations.
The role will require commitment to a minimum of 4 hours per week (can be in 2 hour blocks) with flexibility to scale hours up or down dependant on need and sickness/ holiday cover for the rest of the team. Shifts are rostered via an app on a first come first serve basis up to 2 months in advance.
Dr Karen Morton is a 'doctorpreneur', developing a health tech solution for everyone, but for women in particular. After years of dealing with a multitude of gynaecological issues over the phone she concluded that medicine had been slow to embrace communication technology and was somewhat stuck in a past era where it was traditional for all patients to come and sit in front of the doctor when they have a problem. This was whether they needed to be examined or not.
The Dr Morton's mission is to deal with the gender health inequality and the impact it undoubtedly has on career progression. We are a team who advocate that employers and individuals should receive immediate access to a woman's health expert. Dr Morton's provides direct access to expert gynaecologists, free at the point of care. Our customers are the Practices and PCNs which we serve.
The Primary Care model in the UK is no longer fit for purpose and this is the first step to supporting GP practices with specialist services, with women's health needs at last being addressed head-on.
