Job Title: Analytical Chemist - Service Technician

Company: Dutch manufacturer of high-quality automated analytical instrumentation

Salary: £30,000-£34,000 + Company Car

Location: Remotely based with frequent travel across the M4 corridor and nationally

This position is with a Dutch manufacturer of high-quality automated analytical analysers used globally in laboratories for environmental, food, agricultural, and chemical testing. Established in the 1960s, the company has grown into an international powerhouse with subsidiaries and representatives in over 60 countries. They now employ around 200 people, most of whom are based at their HQ in the Netherlands where their research & development, manufacturing, and international sales and after-sales support teams are located.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a technician to the existing global service team of around 50 dedicated technicians. This opportunity would be perfect for someone who has experience as a chemical laboratory assistant or chemical technician and is looking for a career outside of the lab.

Role and Responsibilities

• The installation and commissioning of the company's instrumentation at customer laboratories across the UK
• Training of customers in analyser operation & maintenance
• Carrying out routine preventative maintenance visits
• Responding to emergency service call-outs and repairs
• Fault diagnosis and resolution using both mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Providing full written reports on activities

Travel

This person will travel around 80% of the time, with regular overnight stays, both nationally and, when required, internationally. We are looking for someone who is free to travel and enjoys being customer-facing.

Person | Cultural Fit

• Degree qualified in Chemistry or a closely related scientific subject
• Prior experience in a QC/analytical laboratory is essential
• Systematic and logical working methods as well as technical skills are your strengths
• If you are communicative, self-confident in customer contact, proactive in your job, self-responsible, and hands-on oriented, you are exactly right for our team
• A valid driving license is essential
