Description

Learning Curve Group is a national training and education specialist who work with further education providers, employers, and learners to help them achieve success. We have strong values which are all centered around our learners – and that is how we believe it should be, as we impact on over 100,000 of them every year. Our ‘Purple People’, the dedicated and passionate people of LCG, help us to deliver success no matter what, to achieve our vision to ‘transform lives through learning’.

Role Information

At our Hair & Beauty Academies, we offer more than just education — we provide a dynamic, hands-on experience in fully operational salons that mirror real-world environments. Learners gain practical skills while training in a professional setting, supported by our wide range of accredited courses spanning Levels 1 to 4. With 13 academies across the country and growing, we’re proud to be building the future of the hair and beauty industry.

As a Beauty Therapy Tutor, you’ll bring your industry expertise to life through our comprehensive training programmes, delivering and assessing courses for apprentices, adult learners, and study programme participants. With a learner-focused approach, you’ll empower our learners to achieve their full potential and consistently deliver outstanding results.

Flexibility is important in this role, as your working days and hours may vary depending on new course start dates and academy timetables. To reflect this, our tutors are contracted between Monday and Sunday, from 07:00am to 10:00pm. While the schedule can shift, no two days are the same, and your impact will be lasting.

Duties
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated teaching sessions, ensuring effective progression of learners.
  • Adhere to the scheme of work and the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) standards.
  • Deliver theory and practical sessions that equip learners with relevant hairdressing knowledge, skills, and behaviours, aligned to industry and qualification standards.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on learners' work, clearly identifying areas of achievement and areas for improvement.
  • Manage learners' records and progress through regular, accurate use of digital systems for assessments, learner portfolios, progress monitoring, and attendance tracking.
  • Embed Maths, English, digital literacy, and personal development effectively throughout curriculum delivery.
  • Participate in LCG quality assurance activities working closely with the quality team.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, promoting professional standards, behaviours, and expectations in line with industry requirements.
  • Undertake continuous professional development to maintain current industry and teaching practice standards.
  • Support the development of learners’ employability, work readiness skills, and progression pathways into employment or further education.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure curriculum alignment, sharing best practices, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning quality.
  • Where applicable, generate teaching and learning resources as required or use the LCG resources.
  • Deliver KPI’s in line with company expectations (Register, marking policy, learner satisfaction).
  • Complete regular and ad hoc reporting as and when required.
  • Positively promote the ethos, culture, and development of the LCG in every aspect of its business.
  • Contribute to the commercial income of the academy salon, meeting salon targets.
  • Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours.
  • Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company.
  • Comply with the Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice guidance as part of your everyday role.
