Job summary
A recruitment agency seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop 3D and 2D designs for specialized machinery. Ideal candidates will have proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, a strong background in mechanical design, and the ability to collaborate effectively. This role is based in the Huntingdon area, requiring own transport due to location.

- Strong engineering mechanical machinery design background.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D and 2D designs for specialised, automated machinery.
Skills
Mechanical Design Engineer – Process Machinery Design
- Develop 3D and 2D designs for specialised, automated machinery using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Strong engineering mechanical machinery design background.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively and meet deadlines.
- Direct interaction with suppliers to obtain pricing and delivery schedules.
- Hands–on shop floor experience in machining, welding, fabrication, etc.
- Experience in designing food machinery and systems.
- Knowledge in the following areas:
- Steam systems and energy calculations
- Fluid systems, pumps, and piping
- Pneumatics
- Stress calculations
- Motor/gearbox sizing for applications
- Sheet metal development
- Machined part tolerances
8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Monday – Friday). Overtime may be available.
Huntingdon – St. Neots – Sandy area. Own transport required due to location.
