We are looking for a Group Projects and Engineering Manager to oversee major above-ground project activities in Gabon. In this capacity, you will be responsible for ensuring project success from concept to execution, providing technical expertise, and aligning projects with business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  1. Develop project business cases and evaluate options to meet requirements.
  2. Ensure appropriate engineering work is completed for AFE reviews.
  3. Review and approve detailed design requirements, engineering deliverables, and schedules.
  4. Oversee subcontracted engineering scopes to ensure compliance.
  5. Implement effective and integrated project execution strategies.
  6. Work closely with the project management and engineering teams in the subsidiaries and ensure proper execution of the job within the specified scope.
  7. Identify and address potential project risks affecting cost and schedule.
  8. Support corporate activities such as insurance processes, abandonment costs, and performance reviews.
  9. Manage engineering activities to support Assala Energy yearly corporate activities.
  10. Leverage technical expertise to support pre-project planning and new business initiatives.
  11. Develop and oversee Opex/Capex project plans to achieve long-term business goals, implementing tools to track subsidiary project performance and drive improvements.
  12. Ensure technical assurance for all Gabon surface projects, covering budget, planning, and resource allocation.
  13. Lead the management of Assala's GHG database and implement advanced field monitoring technologies for fugitive emissions detection and leak repair.
  14. Serve as the technical authority for Assala's Asset Integrity and Pipeline Management, guiding both short- and long-term strategies.
  15. Uphold Assala Group's process safety and project management policies, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer qualification.
  • 15+ years of experience in Process/Petrochemicals and onshore/offshore oil & gas sectors.
  • Expertise in technical management for large-scale projects, asset operations, integrity management, process safety, commissioning and decommissioning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in French is a plus.
  • Strong technical background in engineering and project management.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to identify and address project risks and issues.
  • Capability to develop and implement long-term business strategies.
  • Understanding of process safety and project management policies.
