Job Description

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities within the plant. The role involves developing maintenance schedules, ensuring the availability of materials and equipment, and working closely with maintenance teams to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and improving the reliability of equipment by ensuring that maintenance activities are well-organized and executed.

Job Responsibilities

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections and contribute to the development of corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure that the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program standards are developed as per OEM instructions, are maintained and continuously improved.
  • Stay up to date with equipment manufacturers recommendations and update any changes in SAP.

Resource Management

  • Identify and allocate the necessary resources (labor, materials, tools, equipment) required to execute maintenance tasks.
  • Work closely with the procurement department to ensure that spare parts and materials are available when needed as per the inventory set up level in SAP.
  • Manage and track inventory levels of maintenance supplies and parts.
  • Send RFQ’s to suppliers for spare parts and equipment.

Work Order Management

  • Create, review, and manage work orders, ensuring all necessary information is included for successful execution.
  • Track and report on the status of work orders, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities such as entering purchase requisitions and adding Bills of Material for equipment are documented in SAP.

Coordination & Communication

  • Maintain long-term relationships with our suppliers.
  • Participate in departmental planning meetings.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to ensure that all maintenance activities are well-coordinated.
  • Communicate maintenance schedules and update all relevant departments, including production, safety, and quality teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Designation Preferred: APP or CPP.

Minimum Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in maintenance planning.
  • Experience with SAP / MRP systems is a must.

Job Specific Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Procurement and supplier negotiation skills.
  • Sense of initiative and proactivity.
  • Creativity and interest in continuous improvement.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in managing inventory in a manufacturing environment; experience in organizing stock, issuing supplies and equipment and dealing with suppliers.
