Overview

McDonalds has an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development Delivery Manager based in our Mexico Global Business Services Office. You will act as a strategic partner and advisor to business leaders and drive a virtual learning strategy that is based on the Global People Strategy and the respective US & Canada business learning plans. You will manage the delivery of virtual learning programs and courses across the United States and Canada. This will include supporting the activation of new Learning & Development courses and helping to ensure that our employees can run better restaurants, improve the customer experience, and develop and support our people through comprehensive virtual trainings.

You will be responsible for leading both the US and Canada Virtual Delivery Teams consisting of 20 total Virtual L&D facilitators who are accountable for executing enterprise learning strategies and delivering best in class learning and development programs to a wide variety of leaders at all levels.

The candidate is expected to reside within Mexico City, Mexico.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partner & Advisor: Serve as the leader of Virtual Learning Delivery team; provide insight and expertise on the full spectrum of learning including needs analysis, adult learning theory, learning trends, best practices for virtual learning, and learning analytics/measurement.
  • Partners and collaborates with the L&D organization and US/Canada Market Learning Teams
  • Help to create measurable and relevant learning objectives that align with needs of L&D programming within the US and Canada
  • Work in partnership with People Solutions L&D Partners and market stakeholders to ensure L&D virtual programs are meeting the training needs of restaurant employees and brand standards. Reviewing class assessments, surveys and overall virtual program performance.
  • Leads planning and deployment of team to ensure integration and optimum use of learning resources.
  • Conduct assessments to identify virtual delivery competencies and gaps utilizing feedback and performance metrics to refine programs and upskilling L&D Virtual delivery facilitators.
  • Grows the Business: Shares accountability for business growth results within the Learning and Development function.
  • Supports awareness and adoption of virtual learning effectiveness and opportunities to key partners
  • Works shoulder to shoulder with the market learning teams to set direction
  • Communicates and upholds National Training Standards and pre-requisites to deliver world-class virtual training
  • Communicates expectations and measures the success and results of learning activities with key partners; leveraging a consultative approach to diagnosis and improve when needed
Talent Development
  • Developing Talent for the System: Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on virtual training standards content and practices
  • Builds capability of the Virtual Delivery team for US and Canada by modeling and mentoring others on enterprise people development practices and standards
Leading Direct Reports
  • Leads the development of your team by setting direction, coaching, and providing targeted development experiences through the IDP process
  • Builds and maintains bench strength while participating in succession planning process and mentors high potential individuals to attain their career advancement goals
  • Improves Efficiencies: Accountable for integration of US and Canada learning plans in order to create consistency and reduce inefficiency; maintain local relevance of learning while leveraging global frameworks to avoid duplication of work
  • Effectively allocates training schedules for delivery ensuring teams ability to continuously deliver required virtual courses to US and Canada market resources
  • Administers and controls the training G&A budget for your team
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working in Learning & Development and training course delivery
  • Adult learning acumen and expertise
  • Experience leading teams
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English (written and verbal IRL Level 4)
  • BA/BS Degree strongly preferred
  • Significant learning experience, proven understanding and ability with current and emerging learning practices and trends
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to develop, coach, and guide a team of learning professionals
  • Familiar with WebEx or other virtual delivery tool (video/voice/PowerPoint enabled)
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn; self-starter
  • Strong ability to influence others; able to build and drive a strong business case for people as a growth driver
  • Experienced in collaborating with cross-functional partners in a matrixed environment

  • Willingness to travel to United States (<25%)
