Job Title: Assistant Dispatch Coordinator
Location: Derby
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum
Reports to: Dispatch Coordinator
Job Overview:
Adept Resourcing Group is excited to be working alongside an innovative end-to-end manufacturing company operating in the aerospace and automotive industries. Together we are searching for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Dispatch Coordinator to join our client's dynamic logistics team in Derby. The Assistant Dispatch Coordinator will work closely with the Dispatch Coordinator to ensure the smooth and efficient management of dispatch operations, playing a key role in supporting day-to-day dispatch activities, coordinating shipments, and ensuring timely deliveries.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Dispatch Coordinator:

1. Assist the Dispatch Coordinator in managing the dispatch of goods and materials to customers and clients.
2. Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any potential delays or issues.
3. Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and couriers to ensure smooth flow of goods.
4. Maintain accurate records of dispatch schedules, inventory levels, and deliveries.
5. Prepare dispatch documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.
6. Respond to queries from customers and suppliers regarding dispatch and delivery status.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant import/export regulations and company policies.
8. Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports on dispatch activities and performance.
9. Provide administrative support to the Dispatch Coordinator as required, including scheduling and organizing resources.
10. Assist in troubleshooting any dispatch or logistics issues and escalate when necessary.
11. Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure products are correctly packaged and ready for shipment.

Key Skills and Experience:

1. Previous experience in a logistics, dispatch, or import/export role is preferable.
2. Previous experience working with EUR1 forms, Freight Forwarders, and TSS.
3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with dispatch software is a plus.
7. Knowledge of import/export regulations is an advantage.
8. A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
9. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
