Position Summary:

CSN Unitech is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. Our Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent is detail-oriented and can multitask to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed.
• Thoroughly examine collision damage, including complete vehicle exterior body parts, power accessories, and dash panel warning lights. Identify any prior damages overlooked on the QA checklist or related on the supplemental damage sheet.
• Perform structural and complete body repairs: Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components.
• Welding on vehicles using MIG welders and compression spot welders.
• Fully dismantle damaged areas to identify hidden damages as early in the repair cycle as possible.
• Ability to file, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
• Restore vehicle to factory specifications: Return the vehicle to factory/OEM specifications.
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive for proper handling.
• Read and understand estimates and automotive repair procedures.
• Able to work with a variety of metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts.
• Experience with disassembly and reassembly of vehicles.
• Ability and willingness to follow standardized production processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications, Experience and Other Requirements:

• Auto Body Repair - 3+ years required.
• Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License (310Q) preferred but not required, or in a registered apprenticeship program.
• Technicians with I-Car and OEM certifications are favorable.
• Must have I-Car Welding certification or willingness to enroll in the welding course.
• Carrying, lifting – 100 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, reaching.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Must have own tools and safety footwear.
