Job description

We are looking for an Education Policy Officer, who will also act as a University Liaison, to join the policy and public affairs team of a leading national association for eye care providers.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about promoting high-quality education and training in the field of healthcare. This role would suit someone who is proactive, able to build relationships, and keen to foster collaboration among various stakeholders in a leading healthcare association.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting as a liaison point between trustees of the association, senior staff, optometric universities, and senior training staff in major optical companies
  • Collaborating with the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, undertaking policy projects related to the education and training of the primary eye care workforce
  • Providing secretarial support, coordinating meetings, ensuring effective functioning, and following up on agreed outcomes and actions
  • Organisation and management of designated team members
  • Maintaining confidentiality in a commercial environment, handling personal data with extreme care
Key Requirements
  • High attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders
  • Ability to organise and support meetings, prepare agendas, brief chairs, take notes, and ensure actions are completed within deadlines
  • Some experience of policy development preferably in the education or healthcare sector
  • Analytical aptitude with a view of making informed decisions
  • Driven to engage in a collaborative environment with the ability to work effectively in teams and achieve common objectives
