On behalf of a well-established, entrepreneurially driven mid-cap private equity fund, Thronsberg is exclusively seeking a senior investment professional to join at Investment Director or Partner level. This role offers significant strategic influence, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to actively shape the next phase of the fund’s growth.
This is not a pure execution role. We are looking for a seasoned private equity leader with a strong investment track record, deep market relationships, and the ambition to drive the platform.
- End-to-end responsibility for mid-cap buyout investments, from origination and structuring through execution and exit
- Active deal origination leveraging an established network of entrepreneurs, advisors, and intermediaries
- Leadership of complex transaction processes, including negotiation, due diligence, financing, and closing
- Strategic oversight of portfolio companies, including board-level engagement and value creation initiatives
- Close collaboration with fellow Partners and senior management on fund strategy, sector focus, and capital deployment
- Leadership, mentoring, and development of investment professionals within the team
- Representation of the fund towards investors, management teams, and external stakeholders
- Depending on entry level: clear Partner perspective with growing economic participation and governance responsibility
- 15+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or a related investment environment
- Proven track record in mid-cap buyouts, including successful exits
- Strong sector expertise and the ability to identify and underwrite differentiated investment opportunities
- Demonstrated experience in leading deal teams and managing multiple stakeholders
- Well-established professional network within the DACH and broader European private equity ecosystem
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and long-term value creation
- Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution capability
- Fluent in German and English
- Willingness to be based in Frankfurt am Main
