IT Software License Specialist | Software Asset Management | Enterprise Architecture
Job summary
A leading software management company is looking for an IT Software License Specialist to join their Software Asset Management team. This fully remote role requires strong expertise in software licensing and 14 years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include analyzing software usage, managing license tracking, supporting audits, and assisting with budgeting and procurement. The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and possesses excellent analytical and communication skills.
Qualifications
- 14 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of software licensing and SAM methodologies.
- Experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management preferred.
Responsibilities

Role: IT Software License Specialist
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 6 Months+ (with a possibility of extension)
Work Hours: UST Time
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% Remote
Join our Software Asset Management (SAM) team under Enterprise Architecture and help drive license compliance, cost optimization, and effective software governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze software usage to identify underutilized licenses and cost-saving opportunities
- Manage license tracking, entitlements, and usage across systems
- Support internal/external software audits and license compliance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and license procurement
- Work with SAM tools (ServiceNow) and vendor software portals
- Create reports and dashboards for stakeholders
Requirements:
- 14 years of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred (IT/CS or related)
- Strong understanding of software licensing and SAM methodologies
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management preferred
