Job Summary: We are seeking skilled Conventional Lathe Operators to handle machining operations for producing high-precision components as per engineering specifications. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in operating manual/conventional lathes reading technical drawings and ensuring quality machining with minimal supervision.
- Operate and set up conventional/manual lathes to machine metal and non-metal components as per job specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and work orders to determine machining requirements.
- Perform accurate measurements using micrometres vernier callipers and other precision instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Select appropriate cutting tools feeds and speeds to achieve desired finish and tolerance levels.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and ensure proper lubrication and cleanliness of equipment.
- Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company quality procedures.
- Maintain daily production logs and report any deviations or issues to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and timelines.
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical/Tool & Die Making or equivalent.
- 2 years of hands-on experience in conventional lathe operations in a manufacturing/engineering setup.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficient in operating manual/conventional lathes and using cutting tools.
- Strong knowledge of machining practices and tolerances.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments (micrometres callipers gauges).
- Good understanding of safety practices in machine operations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
