POSITION OBJECTIVE
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Counsel with drafting experience (ideally with large law firm TMT-practice group training), with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience to join our legal team on a temporary basis (3-6 month contract). The primary focus of this role will be on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supply contracts and basic corporate documents during a peak period of activity, ensuring compliance and protecting the organization's interests.
Responsibilities
Contract Drafting and Review:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including commercial agreements, service contracts, NDAs
- Assist in managing relationships with stakeholders, including clients, and partners
- Ensure that all contractual terms comply with relevant laws and company policies
Legal Advice and Support:
- Provide clear and practical legal advice to internal teams, ensuring that the organization's interests are protected in business transactions
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate those risks
Internal Legal Functions:
- Support business functions in resolving day-to-day legal issues related to contracts and operations
Legal Documentation:
- Assist in the development and standardization of legal templates and contract terms
- Review and update internal legal procedures and documentation to improve efficiency and minimize legal risks
Reporting and Administration:
- Keep accurate records of legal documents, including contracts, and renewals
- Provide regular updates to the legal team members on caseload matters
Requirements
Education:
- Qualified lawyer with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
- LLB or equivalent legal qualification required
Experience:
- Strong experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, particularly commercial agreements
- Familiarity with UAE laws and regulations related to contract law and corporate governance
- Experience in a group corporate or commercial legal environment is preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in using legal management software (e.g., Practical Law)
