Legal Specialist

Job Description:

• Provide legal support and advise in all areas and aspects to the legal manager and top management.
• Prepare and administer contracts to protect the interest of the company.
• Draft and review international and local contracts, government contracts and tenders, legal notices, letters, documents, correspondences related to the company’s business.
• Advise the company on labor-related matters.
• Review Company/HR policies, Processes and Procedures.
• Prepare documents and files for filing of litigation/arbitration/replies/defense/evidence for the company.
• Conduct legal due diligence including counter party’s corporate structure and sanction checks to the extent they relate to legal issues/matters.
• Analyze risk, cost and benefit of day-to-day execution of sugar contracts.
• Analyze and review the risk, cost and benefit in laytime calculations under raw sugar/refined sugar/raw sugar exchange contracts/white sugar exchange contracts.
• Review/advise/suggest changes to relevant rules and procedures of Rules for Raw Sugar/ICE White Sugar contracts.

Profile Description:

Qualification & Experience:

University Degree in Law (Commercial Law/International Business Law).

Minimum of 5 years experience as law professional preferably in the sugar industry.

Knowledgeable about the general principles of law and the different laws related to the business, i.e. SAL/RSAL rules and NYSE/LSE rules.
