A leading transportation technology company is seeking a Public Policy lead to manage a team of 25+ professionals across APAC. This role requires 15+ years of experience in government or technology policy and the ability to transform complex regulatory challenges into actionable strategies. Success involves strategic communication and strong stakeholder management capabilities. The ideal candidate will drive advocacy efforts while maintaining Uber's mission to improve global transportation methods. Candidates must be comfortable operating within ambiguous environments and represent the company effectively to government leaders.
We are looking for someone to lead our Public Policy team in APAC. This means setting direction in motion across a region defined by its immense scale and starkly different regulatory landscapes.
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to stay at the 30,000-foot view. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to stay at the 30,000-foot view. You will lead a massive regional footprint of 25+ policy experts, but you’ll also need to dive deep into the technical "weeds" of competition policy, the future of work, and autonomous vehicles. Success here requires a "go-get-it" attitude, grit, and the ability to turn ambiguity into a well-articulated, actionable plan that cross-functional partners can rally behind.
Based in either Sydney or Singapore and reporting to the Global Head of Public Policy, you will be a key leader in our APAC organization. If you are energized by the challenge of making things better—even when the path isn\'t clear—this is where you’ll make your mark.
Leadership and presence: Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with high integrity and the ability to represent Uber credibly with senior government and industry leaders.
Uber\'s mission is to reimagine the way the world moves for the better. Here, bold ideas create real-world impact, challenges drive growth, and speed fuelds progress. What moves us, moves the world - let’s move it forward, together.
