The vision for the King Salman International Airport (KSIA) in Riyadh is truly a first of a kind sustainable airport and airport city development. The expansion anticipates accommodating up to 120 million passengers annually through 2030, quadrupling the current capacity of 30 million. We are seeking an experienced Technical Expert/Client Liaison Mechanical and plumbing specializing in electrical engineering for airport projects. The role involves being a critical part of a site-based team led by the Engineering Director, managing Mechanical and plumbing design, analysis, and construction oversight while serving as a key liaison with clients and stakeholders.
In this role, you will report into the Building Assets Director.
Responsibilities- The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, proven experience in airport infrastructure projects, and excellent client management skills. This position requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and compliant Mechanical and plumbing solutions in a fast-paced, aviation-focused environment.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to Mechanical and plumbing designs and construction.
- Prevent the emergence of questions before during or after the design period stages.
- Organize and participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress, Mechanical and plumbing challenges, and potential solutions, add value to our services.
- Translate Mechanical and plumbing details into clear and concise information for non-technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate data collection and interfaces with airport and other designers.

Here's what you'll need
- Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical and plumbing engineering, with at least 5 years in airport infrastructure and terminal building projects.
- Proven experience in a client liaison role, managing relationships with stakeholders on complex projects.
- Expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and plumbing systems in airport environments, including airside and landside facilities.
Technical Expertise- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems for airport infrastructure, including
- HVAC systems for terminal buildings, lounges, and airside facilities.
- Plumbing systems including potable water, drainage, wastewater, and rainwater management.
- Fire protection systems including sprinkler, suppression, and smoke control systems.
- Fuel and gas systems integration and safety for airport applications.
- Special systems such as jet bridges, baggage handling system interfaces, and ground support equipment utilities.
- Proficiency in design and analysis software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, HAP (Hourly Analysis Program), and CFD tools.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient systems and renewable energy integration in mechanical and plumbing designs.
Client Liaison Skills- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with airport authorities, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to convey complex mechanical and plumbing concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in organizing and leading stakeholder meetings, presentations, and workshops.
Regulatory and Industry Standards- Deep understanding of international and local mechanical and plumbing codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC (International Plumbing Code), ISO, and ICAO/IATA guidelines.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as LEED, BREEAM, or similar certifications for mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with safety regulations specific to high-security environments like airports.
Project Management Skills- Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and integrating mechanical and plumbing systems with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, electrical).
- Expertise in managing schedules, budgets, and resources for mechanical and plumbing works.
- Proven ability in risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and contract administration.
Safety and Quality Assurance- Expertise in safety practices and compliance for mechanical and plumbing systems, particularly in high-risk environments like airports.
- Experience conducting inspections, commissioning, and performance testing for mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Strong focus on quality assurance and adherence to project specifications.
Problem-Solving and Innovation- Ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical and plumbing engineering challenges during design and construction phases.
- Familiarity with advanced technologies, such as IoT-enabled plumbing systems and smart HVAC solutions.
- Proficiency in developing innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions tailored to airport operations.
Leadership and Team Collaboration- Strong leadership skills to guide engineering teams and foster collaboration across disciplines.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
Language and Cultural Adaptability- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Availability and Flexibility- Willingness to be based on-site in Riyadh and travel as required by project demands.
