Maintenance Supervisor & Planner (m/f)
Bayer HealthCare Manufacturing is looking for a bright candidate for the role of Maintenance Supervisor & Planner, within the Engineering, Maintenance and Excellence (EMEX) cluster at the pharma manufacturing site of Garbagnate. He/She will be accountable for maintenance activities and continuous improvement towards excellence and he/she will supervise technical work at the shopfloor and plan technical actions to fix the root causes of unplanned downtimes and to deliver added value to the customers.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be responsible for maintenance in the assigned manufacturing cluster within Bulk or Packaging production.
- Provide functional / VACC leadership to the Maintenance Operations and Excellence Team, translating the Team Lead vision in concert with the fellow Maintenance Supervisors & Planners.
- Drive continuous improvement on the equipment from a technical perspective, as part of the Product Supply System (PSS) Progressive Maintenance (PM) lean methodology, towards the target of “Zero losses” and optimized costs.
- Plan technical activities to be performed on the equipment, defining and procuring the needed materials and service from external contractors, bringing together all needed capabilities.
- Supervise on the shopfloor the Mechanical and Automation Technicians performing maintenance to the equipment.
- Foster Technicians to develop their technical and soft skills, to continuously advance their ownership.
- Provide technical guidance and collaborate with Spare Parts Management on spare parts needed to maximize equipment availability, while optimizing inventory costs, in a balanced approach.
- Collaborate with Reliability and CMMS Experts, based on collected technical feedback and on the analysis of available data, to improve technical standards, to implement innovative ideas and to define the most meaningful KPI’s to visualize performances and gaps for the whole Team.
- Interact with the Technical Scheduler to make sure all planned activities are scheduled in the site Technical Schedule, providing input requests, constraints, targets and evaluating feedback on possible opportunities to optimize the schedule and minimize planned downtime.
- Supervise service level & compliance for activities performed by external Contractors.
- Connect to the global EMEX cluster within Pharma Product Supply for initiatives related to maintenance, continuous technical improvement (e.g. PSS PM pillar), to the other EMEX Teams on site and to the relevant site clusters.
- Direct and supervise the Team with regard to the Health, Safety, Environment and Energy duties.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering or technical undergraduate degree with relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of previous experience in the maintenance business.
- Hands-on experience in the technical aspects of technology and equipment for manufacturing and packaging, including mechanics, electrical automation, pneumatics etc.
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage or cosmetics industry is preferred.
- Strong attitude to leadership.
- Digital mindset, creativity and intrinsic motivation to continuously improve.
- Concrete experience in implementing and applying lean management methodologies.
- Proactive and structured problem-solving approach.
- Good knowledge of the English language and Italian mother tongue.
