Main function of the role:
Responsible for the analysis, monitoring, and portfolio management of structured credit exposures within the portfolios.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Portfolio management of structured credit exposures (both ABS & CLOs) in the portfolios.
- Analysing and understanding relative value between (i) structured credit instruments and (ii) broader fixed income products.
- Analysing and monitoring ABS & CLO investments.
- Modelling and analysing ABS & CLO structures.
- Generating investment recommendations from Primary and Secondary markets.
- Reviewing legal documents and trustee reports.
- In charge of the fundamental and risk review:
- Analysing underlying loans and the broader European leveraged loan market.
- Analysing underlying ABS collateral and the broader consumer credit environment.
- Understanding rating agency methodologies and keeping the team up to date with the latest rating agencies’ developments.
- Being a thought leader for ESG analysis within structured credit.
- Foster and maintain a culture reflecting FCA and other regulatory obligations (and Hermes’ Code of Ethics) compliant with the FCA Conduct Rules.
- Ensure all your obligations as a Certified person are performed.
Experience Required:
- May have experience gained from working in a bank but preferably also an asset manager.
- Ability to perform credit analysis of structured credit deals including: originator, manager (CLOs), collateral, structure, documentation.
- Able to incorporate ESG / sustainability considerations.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Candidate Profile:
- Have a solid foundation in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Demonstrate clear communication skills (verbal and written communication).
- Ability to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with both internal and external parties.
- Demonstrate track record in managing structured credit investments and understanding the relative value between structured credit instruments and broader fixed income products is preferred.
