Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Powered Access Workshop Manager to lead our dynamic workshop team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the safe and efficient refurbishment of scissor lifts. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety compliance, and high-quality standards of our refurbishment processes.

Job Description:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the scissor lift refurbishment workshop.
  • Lead and motivate a team of both Electrical and Mechanical Workshop Engineers to achieve production targets.
  • Supervise and support team members, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks in the workshop processes, implementing changes to improve efficiency.
  • Manage departmental discipline, holidays, sickness and absence, etc.
  • Manage the recruitment process for the department.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices.

Specific Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, capable of motivating and guiding workshop staff to achieve optimal performance and productivity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges that arise in the workshop environment.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage resources effectively, and maintain a structured workflow.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and dynamic work situations, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of projects.

Knowledge:

  • NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering.
