Salary: £90-£100 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic SEN school in Barnet. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and help them achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to tailor educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN to help students understand and complete their work, providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment to foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements of Teaching Assistant:

  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating the understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Show a deep commitment to helping students by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education (desirable but not essential).

To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
