Job description

Due to a high demand, Academics are actively recruiting cover supervisors to work in a variety of schools in the Leeds and Wakefield areas. Cover Supervisors play a vital role within schools and are required to carry out pre-planned lessons for short term teacher absences. The role of a cover supervisor is a great step for those who are aspiring to be teachers as well as recent graduates who are looking to gain classroom experience.

Your main responsibilities as a cover supervisor will involve the following:

1. Creating a positive learning environment for the students and helping them develop with their academic studies
2. Supervising student's behaviour and referring to the schools behaviour management policy if required
3. Displaying subject knowledge to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
4. Following the schools safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe environment for the students

Qualities and attributes we are looking for as a cover supervisor:

1. Flexibility to cover multiple subjects and to correspond with any last minute requirements
2. Excellent communication skills with a passion for making an impact on student's lives
3. Previous experience preferred, but not essential
4. A university degree
5. An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply to one
