You will also be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and following all safety protocols. - Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, etc.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times
- Read and interpret blueprints or maps to determine job specifications
- Use hand signals or radio communication with other workers on site
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment by performing regular checks and repairs when needed
- Move materials around the construction site using the excavator bucket or other attachments
- Grade terrain according to specifications using the controls on the excavator
- Dig trenches or holes as directed by supervisors
- Keep accurate records of daily operations including fuel usage, materials moved, etc.
- Proven experience as an Excavator Operator
- Valid license to operate heavy equipment
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and maps
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills
