ABOUT THE ROLE

The NIO Retail Design and Construction Specialist will lead the creative vision and execution of cutting-edge retail spaces, showrooms, and innovative NIO touchpoints. This role demands a passion for retail design, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to bring conceptual designs to life through meticulous construction management.

Key Responsibilities

Design Concept Development and Management

• Collaborate with design teams to create visually striking and functionally efficient retail spaces that embody the NIO brand ethos.
• Develop and refine innovative design concepts for showrooms and NIO touchpoints, ensuring a cohesive brand experience across all locations.
• Review and approve design documents, ensuring they align with NIO's retail strategy and customer experience goals.
• Stay abreast of retail design trends and incorporate forward-thinking elements into NIO's retail spaces.

Retail Construction Oversight

• Manage the entire retail construction process, from initial site selection to grand opening.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to translate design concepts into buildable plans.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring high-quality execution of design elements and adherence to NIO's exacting standards.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address design-related issues, and ensure construction aligns with the approved design concept.

Retail Design Implementation

• Work closely with visual merchandising teams to create immersive retail environments that showcase NIO products effectively.
• Ensure that all design elements, from lighting to materials, contribute to an exceptional customer journey within the retail space.
• Manage the procurement of specialized retail fixtures, furniture, and equipment that enhance the overall design aesthetic.
• Oversee technology integration within the retail space to create interactive and engaging customer experiences.

Project and Budget Management

• Develop comprehensive project plans that balance design aspirations with practical time and budget constraints.
• Manage project budgets focusing on achieving high-impact design outcomes within financial parameters.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless design, construction, and retail operations integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Retail Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in retail design and construction projects in the UAE.
• A proven track record of delivering visually stunning and commercially successful retail projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative retail design concepts and successful implementations.
• Excellent understanding of retail space planning, customer flow, and experiential design principles.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering tools) and project management tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts to creative teams and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
• Fluency in English and Arabic language skills is a plus.
