To ensure the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols within an organization, the Safety Executive role involves developing and overseeing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and fostering a culture of safety to protect employees, assets, and the overall well-being of the organization.
Job Descriptions
- Develop and enforce safety rules and procedures following regulations and best practices.
- Regularly check for workplace hazards and take preventive actions.
- Ensure the company follows all safety laws and keep up with any changes.
- Provide safety training to employees and promote a safety-focused culture.
- Investigate any accidents that happened and make improvements to prevent future incidents.
- Develop and manage emergency plans, including evacuation and first aid procedures.
- Oversee the purchase of safety equipment and services and ensure vendors follow safety standards.
- Manage safety measures for facilities, including emergency exits and hazard identification.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace and provide training and guidance to maintain a safe work environment.
- Share safety information and updates with employees and address any safety concerns from employees and the public.
- Coordinate with authorities for emergency management.
- Generate reports on safety performance and compliance.
Job Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in safety or a related field.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office, preparing reports, presentation slides & business improvement plan/processes.
- Practical experience in occupational health and safety roles, with a focus on hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety program implementation.
- Possess a green book from DOSH and a green card from CIDB.
- Must possess one (1) of the qualifications below:
- Safety Health Officer (Registered with DOSH)
- Certified: ISO 45001: 2018 Requirements
- Certified: ISO 45001: 2018 Internal Auditor
- Certified: Basic Occupational, First Aid, CPR & AED (Expiry 2022)
- On-Scene Commander (Emergency Response Situation)
- Certified: Mental Health First Aider.
- HIRARC and Environmental Aspect Impact Training.
- Hearing Conservation Training.
- SCBA, EEBA and Gas Detector Training.
- Incident Investigation Training.
