Responsible for assisting top management in driving ESH excellence through culture building by creating and rolling out relevant strategies to meet the company’s goals on ESH performance.
To advocate and push adherence towards legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for adopting and delivering best practices from the region and group, fostering BBS, QA & security standards, and deploying across Sika Malaysia sites.
a. Main Tasks
- Help develop and implement EHS, QA & Security Strategies: Help design and implement comprehensive EHS QA roadmap and initiatives to ensure compliance with industry standards and alignment with company global EHS initiatives.
- Strategic Partner – communication: Spearhead initiatives to synchronize and help the country ESH deploy new programs and practices across Sika Site in Malaysia. Develop multiple ways to ensure communication reaches all levels at SIKA.
- Help Policy Development and Documentation: Help develop, review, and update EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote a safe and healthy work environment as per Sika’s corporate and regional guidelines. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and is effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Engage site leadership team and floor members to perform regular safety walks and initiate internal EHS audits to identify potential hazards, assess EHS risks, and develop site-based strategies to mitigate risks. Implement corrective and preventive actions wherever necessary while coordinating with other departments.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels, including management, to promote awareness, compliance, and culture for safety. Ensure training programs are effective, practical, and up to date with regulatory requirements.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into EHS incidents, accidents, near misses, and other relevant events at sites. Analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and prepare comprehensive incident reports. Ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities, management, and group as required.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Deploy corporate or country guidelines key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor EHS performance across Bukit Raja. Oversee reporting tool Spheracloud and deploy corrective actions accordingly.
- Supplier and Contractor Management: Engage and collaborate with procurement to evaluate EHS performance of suppliers and contractors. Establish criteria for selection, conduct assessments, and ensure compliance with EHS standards throughout the supply chain. Embed EHS topics in the core of the process.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant EHS regulations, standards, and industry developments. Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and proactively address any changes or updates.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS and security processes, systems, and practices. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning within the organization.
Your expertise - Our strength
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.
- 7 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment in the role of Safety, Health, and Environment.

- Preferable: At least 7 years’ experience in a Manufacturing/Chemical environment.
