Pioneer Utility Resources, Inc. is a cooperatively owned marketing and communications agency. As Pioneer’s Member Solutions Specialist, you will identify and follow up on leads and offer marketing, communications, and energy efficiency program solutions to help meet Pioneer’s strategic sales objectives. You will hand off closed opportunities to relevant teams for a positive member experience, support marketing strategies, and participate in related projects for subsidiaries Efficiency Services Group and NewsData. The role requires excellent organizational and task management skills, proactive communication, dependable professionalism and strong relationship-building abilities.
Compensation: $44,000 - $66,000
Responsibilities
- Schedule and hold discovery calls with new and existing members to identify needs and solutions.
- Prepare proposals and contracts based on discovery calls, often assisting sales administrator.
- Collaborate closely with other teams to develop leads and complete handoffs during onboarding.
- Document clear product value propositions for B2B materials including development of PowerPoint slide decks.
- Participate in sales goals discussions and suggest strategies.
- Represent Pioneer at industry events to enhance brand awareness and engagement.
- Meet with members, speak publicly about Pioneer solutions, and coordinate booth activities, including transportation and display of booth and promotional items.
- Use CRM systems to track pipeline and lead progress.
- Represent Pioneer in meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Stay informed on issues and changes to products and pricing impacting Pioneer and its members.
- Actively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including ESG and NewsData staff.
- Provide assistance to member and non-member utilities, trade associations, and the general public.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field.
- One year in a role with business development responsibilities blended with marketing, public relations or communications (experience in consumer-owned utilities or broadband preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Teams (including PowerPoint), CRM software, and email marketing platforms.
- Experience may be substituted for higher education.
Desired Attributes
- Previous sales or account management experience, especially in an agency or utility setting.
- History of customer service/customer experience.
- Exceptional writing and project management background.
- Experience with Monday.com, CRMs, Teams and PandaDoc (or similar proposal software) and advanced knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.
Physical Demands
- Sitting: approximately 80% of standard workday when not at conferences.

- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs (office equipment, booth setup, etc.).
