This is an exciting opportunity to join our Section 38 and 278 Team as an Engineer at a time of great investment and regeneration for the district.
The team provides quality consultation on new developments across the Wakefield District. The main drives for the team are to encourage innovation through design and to ensure that development proposals meet all standards set out, ensuring the best provision of services to the existing and prospective residents and businesses in Wakefield.
We are looking to appoint a Section 38 and 278 Engineer within the team to play a major role in the consultation process for highways within new developments throughout the District.
Good communication skills are essential in the role of Engineer within this team, as you will be asked to provide in-depth reviews and comments regarding highway design submissions for new developments. You will also provide project supervision of schemes to ensure that the development progresses through the highway adoption process in a timely manner. The role requires you to work closely with other departments, Councillors, and interested parties; so proven experience of confidently and professionally conveying information both written and oral in a clear, concise, and persuasive style will be required.
This role is based in the Wakefield One building in Wakefield City Centre at a time of exciting change and renovation across the city. As a member of the wider Regeneration and Economic Growth team, you will be at the forefront of these historic projects.
