The Education Welfare Service are seeking to recruit the above.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and professional team, working alongside schools to raise attendance. The post holder will have previous experience of working in schools and/or educational establishments and the post requires both support and challenge. We are seeking a confident person who can offer prompt, consistent and rigorous intervention in line with statutory processes for pupils with poor attendance and advising all schools regarding compliance with legislation/DfE guidance in relation to attendance and where appropriate identify and challenge practice.
The successful postholder will provide support to schools and parents/carers with regard to safeguarding issues around non-attendance for example quick identification of absence indicating a potential Child Missing Education exploitation of vulnerable children through; County Lines, those vulnerable to exploitation etc, advocating for children and families. The post will also require work on Elective Home Education and other duties outlined within the Education Welfare Service. The postholder is required to work with schools to develop, deliver and evaluate attendance training and will also be required to present to other professionals on occasion.
The post holder will be supported by colleagues and will also have access to regular supervision.
