Job description

We are seeking an Emergency Planning Officer, who has a passion for ensuring that plans are in place and implemented during an incident/emergency response within the Wakefield district. This is an exciting and diverse role to work within the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity team where no day is ever the same working with numerous partners across the district and West Yorkshire.

The role will include assisting the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Manager to coordinate, monitor, develop and review Emergency Planning and Business Continuity plans and policies to ensure the Council is prepared as reasonably possible to meet its statutory duties to plan for and deal with a major incident or emergency under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.

You will be required to respond to emergencies, both during and outside normal office hours in accordance with the Council's emergency procedures.
