As a newly established consultancy, we are looking for driven and experienced consultant solicitors to join our team on a freelance, ad-hoc basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing consultancy, where you can manage your own caseload, provide expert legal advice, and contribute to a variety of legal matters; all while maintaining the flexibility to balance other work commitments.
We are currently seeking consultant solicitors in the following areas:
- Commercial Contracts and Corporate
- Employment Law
- Wills and Estate Planning
The Roles: As a Consultant Solicitor, you will provide expert legal services in your field of specialisation on a freelance, ad-hoc basis. This role offers significant flexibility, allowing you to work remotely and manage your own schedule, enabling you to balance other professional commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice, draft documents, and offer solutions in your area of expertise (employment law, commercial contracts, or wills and estate planning)
- Manage cases and client relationships independently, ensuring high-quality service
- Collaborate with other consultants and the team as necessary to meet client needs
- Maintain a current understanding of relevant legal developments, trends, and regulations
- Manage your own caseload with deadlines and client expectations in mind
1. Commercial Contracts and Corporate Consultant Solicitor
- Advise clients on the drafting, negotiation, and review of a range of commercial contracts
- Assist clients with contract disputes and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Provide strategic advice on contract risk management and mitigation
- Advise clients on corporate matters, including joint ventures, corporate governance, and compliance
- Draft, review, and negotiate corporate documents, such as shareholder agreements, articles of association
- Provide strategic guidance on business structure, financing, and growth opportunities
- Assist with due diligence, corporate restructuring, and regulatory compliance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate law developments and advise clients accordingly
- Manage client relationships, offering tailored, practical legal solutions
2. Employment Law Consultant Solicitor
- Advise on a wide range of employment law matters including discrimination, unfair dismissal, redundancy, and workplace disputes
- Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements
- Provide support for clients in workplace investigations
3. Wills and Estate Planning Consultant Solicitor
- Provide expert advice on wills, trusts, estate planning and LPAs
- Advise on inheritance tax, trust structures, and succession planning
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 2-5 years PQE in the relevant area of law
- Up-to-date practising certificate and adequate and appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Strong experience in your field, with a proven ability to manage client matters independently
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships
- Ability to manage your own caseload and deadlines effectively in a freelance capacity
- Prior experience working as a freelance or consultant solicitor is desirable but not essential
- A flexible, proactive approach to work and the ability to manage multiple commitments
- Flexibility to work remotely and choose your own hours, allowing you to balance other work commitments
