Full time - 36 hours per week

Salary - up to £29,500

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manufacture and repair elastomer & plastic moulds, multi-trim dies, and other tooling components, multi-task across a number of machines and processes at any one time, demonstrate a proactive mindset for process development, assist in increasing automation and utilisation of equipment, support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities, support colleagues, Section Leaders, and Managers in meeting all quality, delivery, and cost objectives, and comply with the company’s safety, environmental, and quality policies at all times.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Required: Formal engineering qualification to NVQ3 level (or C&G equivalent)
  • Desirable: Formal engineering qualification to HNC level (or C&G equivalent)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience in programming, setting & operation of CNC Mills
  • Familiarity and experience of use of measuring equipment
  • Familiarity and experience of interpreting Engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern cutting tools and techniques

Desirable:

  • Experienced in FANUC machine tool controls
  • Experienced in multi-axis machine tools
  • Experience in elastomer mould, plastic mould, and press-tool manufacture
  • Experience in conventional toolroom machinery (mills, lathes, surface grinders)
  • Knowledge of other toolroom machinery (cylindrical grinders, EDM, WEDM)
  • Experienced and conversant PC user
  • Experience in automation processes & database managed machine tools
  • Experience of “Lean Manufacturing” techniques
  • Experienced in Offline programming & part verification
