As the largest financial institution on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We’re seeking a Marketing & Community Events Coordinator to organize events and support tech tasks, enhancing community engagement and promoting Coastal Community’s mission.
What's the role?
As a Marketing & Community Events Coordinator, you have the ability to make a meaningful impact! Reporting to the AVP, Community Impact & Corporate Communications, you will organize and execute various marketing events and initiatives. Additionally, you'll support marketing technology tasks across platforms such as Coastal’s website, mobile app content, and CRM system. Your role is key in enhancing community and member engagement while promoting Coastal Community’s mission through effective planning and marketing technology support.
Your duties will include:
- Updates and amends existing website and mobile app content as directed.
- Supports Coastal Community’s marketing technology platforms, building, testing and deploying, and reporting on email campaigns in the CRM Marketing Cloud and email marketing tool.
- Manages list uploads for the CRM and email marketing tool.
- Provides support for internal and external communications related to marketing technology initiatives.
- Assists in the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies.
- Monitors and analyzes the performance of digital marketing campaigns and provides insights for improvement.
- Contributes to the research, development, publishing, monitoring and reporting of social media content.
- Drives traffic to Coastal Community’s online properties through effective use of search engine optimization.
- Supports the planning, promotion, execution, and post-event communications for virtual member events.
- Maintains strong relationships throughout the Marketing Department, other internal stakeholders, as well as external partners and vendors.
- Completes general administrative requests for the Marketing team, providing reliable and timely support for various tasks.
- Provides support and services to enhance community experiences within Coastal Community.
- Coordinates and supports the planning and execution of community events and initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and employees, fostering collaboration and support for community engagement efforts.
- Represents Coastal Community at various community events as required, serving as a brand ambassador and cultivating positive interactions with attendees and stakeholders.
- Assists specialists within the Marketing department by providing support for marketing initiatives related to community events, including promotional activities and materials.
- Manages logistics for community events, including setup, takedown, organization, and procurement of necessary supplies, ensuring efficient operations and optimal attendee experience.
- Organizes and oversees volunteers for events, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth execution and positive volunteer experiences.
- Supports event wrap-up activities, including evaluations and reports, to assess event success and identify areas for improvement.
- Adapts to working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, ensuring events proceed smoothly regardless of environmental factors.
- Adheres to food safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring the safe handling and distribution of food at events.
What are we looking for?
- High school diploma and completion of two (2) years post-secondary; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Food Safe Certification is preferred.
Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:
- Two (2) years’ experience in marketing administration.
- Previous experience developing relationships and planning events with various external stakeholders in the community.
- Experience with website content management, app and online banking updates and email marketing platforms (CRM and email marketing tool) are an asset.
- Ability to efficiently learn and apply new information, processes and technologies.

Career Band Range (Annual Salary) - $42,704 to $60,635.00
The posted salary range is designed to reflect a broad career band, encompassing a variety of roles within our organization and serves as a general guideline. Your final compensation will be tailored to your unique skills, experience, and the responsibilities of the role.
