Job Description:
We are on an exciting journey to create a hybrid human and digital advice channel powered by a team of advisors and supported by a digital engagement platform. Reporting to the AVP, Strategy, Business Growth, the Director Client Acquisition and Engagement will be responsible for developing and executing Prospr’s core business growth strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the strategic roadmap for Prospr’s growth and will work closely across the Business Unit to understand the strategic focus, processes, and key business priorities required to achieve our targets. The mandate is focused on generating new Client acquisition opportunities and third-party products that can be offered to our Clients. The Director will also be accountable for the evolution and growth of Prospr’s Direct-to-Client business. The candidate is expected to thrive in a high change environment and should be highly independent in their ability to execute work and able to work effectively with stakeholders and partners across Sun Life Canada.
What will you do?
- Support the creation and execution of the Prospr strategic roadmap to reflect current and forecasted business environment.
- Support strategy communications through presentation development and delivery in key forums (e.g. steering committees, key executive updates)
- Lead the current portfolio of Direct-to-Client solutions and drive performance and sales targets in-line with strategic objectives and business plans
- Develop the strategic roadmap for growing the sales and capabilities of the Direct-to-Client channel focusing on digital best practices and current/emerging trends
- Support facilitating strategy sessions, workshops with the Prospr team and partners to dynamically track and adapt strategy
- Lead key strategic initiatives for Prospr top priorities and other Sun Life enterprise initiatives
- Evaluate internal processes to drive an improved Client Experience, reduce barriers for Client Engagement, support the Advisor and sales team through process improvement analysis
- Work with platform and technology delivery teams to implement new products and partnerships on the platform
- Lead the analysis and economic viability in support of product shelf management
- Work with subject matter experts and cross functional partners to develop concepts and pilots in order to test new solutions with our clients
- Work with internal partners to develop go to market plans and campaigns
- Oversee executive presentations and reporting for key recurring updates – OKR and KPI updates, sales performance updates, operational health analysis, monthly channel updates, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
- 8+ years of relevant strategic planning, business development, and business management experience
- Strong knowledge of distribution, wealth and/or insurance space
- Proven track record in Client Experience management in a D2C or B2B2C environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of technology platforms or ability to learn about technology and digital products; experience working on technical products is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills to executive audience and diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop creative, human-centered solutions which balance end-user experience, total cost of ownership, complexity, and speed to market
- An innovative and creative mindset with proven experience in translating strategies and concepts into tactical execution.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and planning skills. Must have the ability to design and implement a strong framework for measurement and tracking, and be laser focused on highlighting performance outcomes, drivers and the key metrics of success
- Strong creative and analytical problem solver, with a solid background working with data, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to interpret and generate insights from data results, and writing reports/presentations to executive audiences
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to understand multiple agendas and to align interests and competing priorities accordingly. Must possess strategic influencing and communication skills and be adept in building and sustaining partnerships and alliances
- Possess a growth mindset and passion to challenge the status quo, find new solutions and drive out-of-the-box ideas
- Highly collaborative and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment professionally and positively

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales-focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
