Job description

Moosehead Breweries Limited is Canada's last-major brewer still owned by Canadians. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company has been operated by the Oland family since it was established in 1867.

We are currently seeking an ASSISTANT BRAND MANAGER to support the Boston Beer Company portfolio. This role will be primarily focused on the better-for-you portfolio including TRULY HARD SELTZER.

This role can be based remotely within Canada or at the Moosehead Brewery in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior Brand Manager, this position will lead packaging, creative advertising, and public relations projects for our partner brands. To effectively do so, the individual needs to be a skilled communicator who can balance creativity, strategic thinking, and data analysis to tell a story. In addition, expert project management is required to navigate our complex network of internal and external stakeholders including the Boston Beer Company, creative and media agencies, and partners such as the NHL.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education, marketing concentration preferred.
  • 2-3 years marketing experience, previous experience as an Assistant Brand Manager is preferred.
  • Beverage alcohol or CPG industry experience is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the U.S. is an asset.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an asset.
  • Proficiency with PC Applications (Excel, Teams, Viva Engage, Outlook, etc.) is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Canva is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Project Management Tools (Workfront, Monday.com, etc.) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage the commercialization of innovation with Boston Beer and the various production and co-packing partners.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize +7 packaging projects at one time.
  • Collaborate with external agencies (media, creative development, public relations) and partners including the NHL.
  • Construct clear creative briefs based on the needs of the media plan.
  • Lead and generate feedback on packaging, advertising (video and static), and public relations projects with agencies.
  • Complete performance analysis using market research, data, and competitive insights.
  • Build and deliver engaging presentations to communicate plans and results.
  • Assist in the development of annual brand plans and semi-annual business reviews.
  • Initiate process improvements to optimize ways of working and brand performance.
  • Manage consumer marketing budget by forecasting and reconciling spending monthly.
  • Maintain trusting relationships and rapport internally, with Boston Beer, agency, and partner (NHL, etc.) leads.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities associated with the brand portfolio and special projects as assigned.
