The Role
We’re searching for an innovative and inspiring Executive Creative Director (ECD) to take the helm and steer our creative vision, production strategies, and social media presence across multiple platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with our executive and senior leadership teams to craft groundbreaking, game-changing solutions while ensuring all creative processes flow seamlessly within our agency. This is your opportunity to leave your mark and lead us to the next level of creative excellence.
Some extra context on the length of the contract: This role would be responsible for covering a 12-18 month parental leave, with the possibility of moving into a permanent ECD role definitely on the table.
The ECD will be responsible for the following:
- You’ll lead and inspire the creative team to produce high-impact work that aligns with our brand’s vision and client expectations. You’ll define the creative direction across all projects, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment where the team thrives.
- You’ll lead the production team and ensure the production department is set up to produce at the highest standards while working with operations to optimize workflows for efficiency and support their unique culture.
- You’ll lead the social practice at Mint, supporting social leadership to create best-in-class social work for a variety of clients, as well as champion social-first thinking with creative teams.
- Collaboration is key: You’ll partner with our agency partners + accounts, PR, and strategy teams to align efforts with business goals while maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners. You’ll lead impactful presentations, ensuring the creative vision is clear and actionable.
- Beyond the work, you’ll champion team growth by fostering a culture of creativity, mentorship, and inclusion—empowering your team to continually elevate their skills and work quality.
- You’ll be a champion for the creative vision of the agency and its creative leader while contributing thinking, craft, and culture.
- Key responsibilities include overseeing creative output, building and maintaining client relationships, driving new business initiatives, and nurturing team talent. A strong background in delivering reputation-building work and experience in managing creative teams is essential.
The must-have skills:
- Proven experience as a creative leader in a creative agency, leading a creative and production team.
- A strong and diverse portfolio of non-traditional and traditional work that demonstrates creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of brand development and storytelling; you understand talk-worthy ideas can show up in all kinds of ways and are comfortable acting as a 'what if' thinker.
- Experience leading and inspiring a large, multidisciplinary team with diverse skill sets, including creative directors, art directors, copywriters, designers, social media specialists, content creators, resource operations, and producers, while fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
- Exceptional ability to work with clients of all levels to understand their objectives and sell through audacious work that effectively realizes their vision and business goals.
- Successful experience in leading new business pitches from strong creative to compelling narratives and theatre.
- A track record of overseeing resourcing and operations of a creative, social, and production department to ensure efficient ways of working and team support.
- Strong skills in partnering with operations and leadership to fuel the conditions for a great product.
