- Design single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, and system layouts for residential and commercial solar projects.
- Prepare detailed PVsyst reports for energy simulations, shading analysis, and system performance predictions.
- Prepare project technical proposals based on site conditions.
Engineering Calculations:
- Conduct power load calculations and voltage drop calculations to ensure proper system sizing and integration with the existing electrical infrastructure.
- Perform solar PV system efficiency calculations and optimization for maximum performance.
Project Documentation & Cost Estimation:
- Prepare tender documentation, including technical specifications, cost estimation, and preliminary design proposals (if company bids for tender projects).
- Assist in the preparation of risk assessments, material submissions, work statements, and other basic safety documentation.
- Support project costing and work on materials procurement, coordinating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
Project Coordination & Management:
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure project milestones are met on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Monitor daily site activities, track progress, and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide weekly progress reports to clients and senior management, highlighting key milestones, issues, and updates.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Attend weekly meetings with clients, consultants, and suppliers to review project status, technical challenges, and ensure effective communication across teams.
- Manage client expectations by addressing concerns, proposing solutions, and delivering on the project’s goals.
System Integration & Testing:
- Ensure the successful integration of solar PV systems into the existing electrical grid by overseeing electrical connections, cable tray installations, and system commissioning.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of the solar system and support the team in troubleshooting any technical issues that arise during the process.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and building codes during all stages of project execution, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
- Participate in the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and close-out documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies in system design, execution, and project management.
- Stay updated with the latest solar technologies and industry best practices to enhance system performance and cost-effectiveness.
Candidates familiar with authorities' document submissions (SCDF, RSAF, and SPPG) are preferred.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in solar design, project execution, and system optimization.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Revit, and other design software.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV system design, shading analysis, power load calculations, and voltage drop calculations.
- Excellent skills in project management, cost estimation, and client communication.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance for solar installations.
- Experience in testing and commissioning of solar PV systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
