Job ID: 2816841 | PT Amazon Web Services Indonesia
Join the dynamic AWS ASEAN startup team and work directly with the top startups and venture capitalists (VC) in the region. You will spend your days interfacing with global startup organization leadership teams, and navigating cross-AWS and Amazon to enable startups to realize outsized success. The team’s comprised of a rare group of high-caliber founders, investors and startup operators with deep ecosystem network, working within Amazon to drive AWS strategy and support the next generation of startup entrepreneurs.
You might never have thought of working at AWS – but this is a unique role to work for one of the fastest growing startups of all time (AWS, believe it or not) while being plugged into the center of the startup ecosystem. We’re hiring for roles across Southeast Asia, and are seeking team members who have founded companies, and who get excited about working with, mentoring and driving the success of startup founders day-in and day-out.
Candidates must have a background in the startup ecosystem as a startup founder or in a leadership role at a VC, startup or technology organization. They would have helped build and grow a business, likely raised or helped startups raise capital, and experienced the arc of business-building from nothing to something. In addition to working closely with startup founders and teams, this role will require the candidate to 1) own and manage relationships with the VC community, and influence decision making towards utilizing AWS as the basis for their portfolio companies’ infrastructure, 2) identify appropriate VCs to target, and drive the necessary business and technical relationships with the VCs and their portfolio companies to establish new business in those accounts, 3) work closely with the AWS sales team to drive the day-to-day interactions with the portfolio companies in order to build long-term business opportunity, and 4) establish the necessary field mechanisms that help accelerate the AWS innovation flywheel.
The ideal candidate will possess a business background or that of a startup/ founder or executive that enables them to drive an engagement and interaction at the CxO/VP level, as well as experience to easily interact with startup leaders, software developers, architects and builders. Top candidates will have strong domain experience in the fintech ecosystem, and experience driving scale and programmatic playbooks. The individual should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. The successful candidate will be a technologist with an inherent curiosity and a passion for succeeding in high performing teams. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness to get things done is a must. Candidate should also be an entrepreneurial self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against both a country and regional coverage plan.
