Job description
Company Description

NBCUniversal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. We create world-class content, which we distribute across our portfolio of film, television, and streaming, and bring to life through our theme parks and consumer experiences. We own and operate leading entertainment and news brands, including NBC, NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sports, Telemundo, NBC Local Stations, Bravo, USA Network, and Peacock, our premium ad‑supported streaming service. We produce and distribute premier filmed entertainment and programming through Universal Filmed Entertainment Group and Universal Studio Group, and have world‑renowned theme parks and attractions through Universal Destinations & Experiences. NBCUniversal is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation.

Our impact is rooted in improving the communities where our employees, customers, and audiences live and work. We have a rich tradition of giving back and ensuring our employees have the opportunity to serve their communities. We champion an inclusive culture and strive to attract and develop a talented workforce to create and deliver a wide range of content reflecting our world.

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well‑capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure‑play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin‑off is expected to be completed during 2025.

From NBCUniversal, Hayu is the first all‑reality subscription video‑on‑demand streaming service of its kind – offering every episode and every season of a broad selection of reality TV franchises, all in one place. Available in over 45 international markets including Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, on a full array of devices (mobile, tablet, laptop, connected TVs and selected consoles) at www.Hayu.com.

Hayu offers a world of endless reality TV, with over 300 shows, over 9,000 episodes, and a selection of movies available to download and watch on the go – all ad‑free. The majority of shows stream on the service the same day as the USA, including The Real Housewives, Below Deck and Million Dollar Listing TV franchises. Discover Hayu’s sub‑genres of reality content: Home & Design, Dating, Fashion and True Crime.

This is a unique opportunity to join an SVOD service at a hugely exciting time and play an integral role in the international expansion of a brand that has experienced rapid growth in a short period of time, within an environment that is hard working, fast paced and truly collaborative.

Job Description

The Paid Search Planner at Hayu serves as the bridge between hands‑on campaign execution and high‑level strategy. The role refines and implements advanced campaign tactics that drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand awareness across search engines, and YouTube – with an extension to programmatically traded advertising. Working closely with the Paid Search Manager and the broader digital marketing team, this role translates data‑driven insights into actionable plans while mentoring their peers and managing day‑to‑day operational details. This position is a key stepping stone for professionals aspiring to evolve into a managerial role, offering increased responsibility in campaign planning and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities
Campaign strategy & planning
  • Collaborate with the Paid Search Manager to develop tactical campaign plans that align with overall marketing objectives.
  • Translate strategic insights and performance data into detailed, actionable campaign blueprints.
Campaign execution & optimisation
  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and continuous optimisation of paid search campaigns across core platforms (e.g., Google Search Ads via SA360) with potential expansion to additional channels.
  • Execute test plans and iterate on strategies to drive improvements in CPA, ROI, and overall campaign performance.
Performance analysis & reporting
  • Conduct in‑depth analysis of campaign performance using advanced data tools (Excel, Tableau, Looker Studio) to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare clear, concise performance reports and strategic recommendations for internal stakeholders.
Collaboration & cross‑channel integration
  • Work in tandem with other digital channels (paid social, programmatic, organic social) to ensure an integrated approach to media planning and execution.
  • Liaise with creative, analytics, product, and SEO functions to ensure campaigns are aligned with broader digital marketing initiatives.
Mentorship & process improvement
  • Provide guidance and support to Paid Search Executives, sharing best practices and insights to foster team development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to streamline campaign management and reporting.
Budget & vendor management
  • Monitor campaign budgets, ensure precise tracking and pacing against monthly and campaign‑specific caps.
  • Manage vendor relationships for day‑to‑day support and new product rollouts, ensuring operational excellence.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements :
  • 2-3+ years in a Paid Search role with demonstrable success in campaign management and optimisation.
  • Previous experience on the agency or client side within media, SVOD / OTT, or similar industries is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Search Ads and managing bidding and automation through SA360.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualisation.
  • In‑depth understanding of conversion tracking, bid management, and attribution models.
  • Proven ability to translate large data sets into actionable recommendations that drive campaign performance, backing up rationales to decisions with data.
  • Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on maintaining account hygiene and optimising for key performance metrics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to clearly articulate insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally and the ability to mentor junior team members.
  • A passion for digital media trends and an interest in content areas such as reality TV.
  • A solid understanding of marketing subscription‑based products.
Desired Characteristics :
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Fluent written and spoken English

The responsibilities associated with this position are not limited to the above description and may be modified at any time by the Company.
